Sacred Pathways

After Easter, we will be starting an exploration of different ways of praying. It’s all based on a book by Gary Thomas, called Sacred Pathways which identifies nine different ways that people prefer to connect with God.
Different people will prefer different approaches. No one way is any better than any other – they’re just different. So for instance, some people find God in nature, by going out for the walk in the beautiful creation. Others prefer to live in the world of ideas, sitting alone with the Bible, meditating on God’s word.
We’re going to spend some time learning about these different pathways, and my hope is that someone who finds each pathway natural will be able to tell us about it, and someone else will be encouraged to try this new way of praying.
So – which path do you prefer? Perhaps you don’t know. I’ve got a survey I’d like to invite you to do, which will highlight one or two different ways that you mind find yourself drawn to. Unlike other surveys I’ve offered, I don’t want this one to be anonymous. I would like to be able to tell you which pathway the survey suggests you might like, and if you haven’t tried it much, I’d love it if you could explore it over the next weeks and months and tell us about it!
