Special events this Christmas
We’d love you to join us at our special Christmas celebrations.
We’d love you to invite a friend to come with you!
So here are the opportunities to celebrate with us this year: which ones could you bring a friend along to?
Carols by Candlelight
6pm Sunday 22 December
Our choir sing Christmas carols, we hear the story of God’s love through the generations retold, and afterwards we share a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie together.
Family Carols
4pm Christmas Eve
Bring all the family to retell the Christmas story. Dress up as a character from the nativity, sing with us, and come and have a drink and a snack with us before you go. The perfect way to fill the gap in your early evening this Christmas Eve.
Midnight Communion
11.15pm Christmas Eve
Another magical time as we gather in candlelight to wait for midnight and the start of Christmas Day.
Family Communion
10am Christmas Day
Why not bring a present and share the joy in this light hearted service?
New River Group Joint Service
10am Sunday 29 December
The four churches of the New River Group come together occasionally: that’s St Augustine’s Broxbourne, St Laurence’s Wormley, St Catherine’s & St Paul’s Hoddesdon, and St Cuthbert’s Rye Park.
This time it’s our turn to host at St Cuthbert’s, and Mark Escott from St Catherine’s & St Paul’s will be opening our eyes to the meaning behind a famous Christmas carol: Good King Wenceslas.
Ever wondered who he was? Mark will tell you!
