From the Torah to Togo: Our Global and Spiritual Journey

From the Torah to Togo: Our Global and Spiritual Journey

We are continuing our year-long Bible journey, reading through the whole Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel. To support this, our next series of studies takes place on Sunday, April 19th, at 6:30 pm. This session will be held at St Catherine’s & St Paul’s Church, where Mark and Nick will be available to answer your questions on our recent readings: Luke’s Gospel and Deuteronomy, the final book of the Torah.

Looking ahead to the following week, April 26th, we invite you to Compassion Sunday. We are delighted to welcome Lizzie and Sherif Habashi, who will provide an update on the work of Compassion UK, a charity St Cuthbert’s has supported for many years. They will specifically discuss the Compassion project in Togo. At the same time, John Griffiths will preach on Psalm 23, drawing vital links between God’s compassion for us and the charity’s mission to harness that same compassion for disadvantaged children. This is a wonderful opportunity to see how our local study of scripture connects directly to our call to love our global neighbours and support children in need.

Then at 6.30 in the evening at St Cuthbert’s, there will be a Taize service. Based on the beautiful and simple music written by the Taizé community, the service provides a peaceful space for prayer and contemplation. Join us for this lovely time of worship if you can.
