Acts Series
This series is inspired by Heather Ross, our curate and distinctive deacon. Heather’s vocation is not to sit in church waiting for people to walk through the door, it is to go out and meet people where they are. So we looked at examples from the book of Acts that show people doing just that – going out with the message of love and hope that Jesus brings.
6th July 2025: Dave Shaw – Peter & Cornelius Acts 10
Dave tells us about a crucial moment in the history of the church, as they broke through a major cultural barrier and started telling the good news of Jesus, not just to Jewish people, but non-Jews as well.
13th July 2025: Nick Sharp – Paul’s Commission via Ananias Acts 9
Nick takes the development of the church one stage further, relating the story of God choosing a most unlikely person to be chief messenger of the good news to the Gentiles (non-Jews)
20th July 2025: Heather Ross – Paul and Silas, praying in prison Acts 16
Heather takes up Paul’s story, recounting how he and Silas overcame extraordinary hardship and opposition by their faith in the power of Jesus.
